That was a quick one. After July starting with the open air cinema buildup for 11 days we went directly into running the cinema for a month and then tearing everything down in short 4 days (well most of it)
Now i'm awake in the middle of the night to watch the moon eclipse and the heavy thunderstorm that is brewing behind the mountains and looking overly dramatic.
Looking forward to start my new job in a few days.
It's interesting to work alongside different trades like carpenters, electricians, scaffolders. Or chippy, sparkies and scaffies if you want to believe the Aussie folks on site.
Learned a lot and spent most of my time getting power to every near and far corner of the outdoor cinema area. And waterproofing a few things we missed out on after the first storm put some water where it didn't belong and blew a few fuses.
Followed by detail work after the entire setup has been externally audited by specialists (it was incredible to see the amount of detail they went into auditing the power setup)
Spent quite some time reading with the Xteink X4 and obviously built this nowpage thingy and threw it online on nowpag.es which you might be reading here right now :) Also started to contribute some smaller fixes to the crosspoint firmware.
I really like to code things with Django these days. Together with a SQLite database, it gets effortless to build something and not worry about the friction of technology that comes with it.
But that mainly also boils down to having a nice hosting stack that I've built out over the past year.
Spent also some time to finally tackle the navigation issue on my website. i liked the non navigation stuff for such a long time but it got annoying. Also i stumbled over people having a page of tools and stuff they use so i started a /use page
Currently, still reading Dungeon Crawler Carl. Also started Männer, die die Welt verbrennen
And switched my digital library over to Calibre-Web-NextGen
I've upgraded to the P4Next Recorder which finally solves a few shortcomings of the P4
Released NRDY008, just towards end of July (because i did't want to wait for august) and produced the whole thing in an afternoon.
As sometimes my day night schedule completely falls apart and I find myself being awake in the dead of the night I began wandering around... the place where I live shuts down lights at around 1 in the morning, so there are places where it gets pitch black.
i like this, this is nice. Probably I should write that down in a more permanent form
That's it for now - you can find me on mastodon if you want to drop a note.
